My gutter overflows in heavy rain but isn't blocked. Why?

Usually the gutter has sagged so the water collects in a low spot, or the gutter is simply too small for the roof above it. Re-aligning it on new brackets, or fitting a deeper high-capacity gutter, sorts most cases.

Can a blocked gutter cause damp inside?

Yes. When a gutter overflows in the same place every time it rains, that stretch of wall stays wet and the damp can come through to the inside. Before paying for damp treatment, check the gutter above the patch.
